Decibel Meter A+
Effective Date: September 7, 2026
BO YOUNG PARK ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Decibel Meter A+ application (the "App"). We respect your privacy and are committed to explaining clearly how information is handled when you use the App.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
1. Information We Collect
We do not operate our own server or database, and we do not directly collect or store users' personal information on our own servers.
The App may process certain information locally on your device in order to provide its features.
Audio Recordings
When you use the noise measurement and recording features, the App may access your device's microphone and record ambient sound.
Audio recordings created using the App are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store these recordings on our own servers.
You can delete recordings using the features provided by the App, where available, or by deleting the App from your device.
Noise Measurement Data
The App processes noise measurement information, including decibel levels and related measurement data, to provide its noise measurement, recording, playback, grouping, and export features.
This information is processed and stored locally on your device unless you choose to share or export it using another service or application.
2. Microphone Permission
The App requires access to your device's microphone to measure noise levels and record ambient audio.
Microphone access is controlled by Apple's permission system. You can allow or deny microphone access through your device settings.
If microphone access is denied, features that require microphone access may not function.
3. Advertising and Third-Party Services
The App uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to display advertisements.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may process certain information, which can include IP address, device or advertising identifiers, advertising data, diagnostic information, performance information, and information about interactions with the App. The information processed by Google may be used for purposes such as delivering advertisements, measuring advertising performance, preventing fraud, and improving advertising services.
The exact information processed may depend on the version of the Google Mobile Ads SDK, your device settings, your privacy choices, the type of advertisement served, and applicable laws.
For more information about how Google processes information through its advertising services, please review Google's privacy information:
4. Advertising Consent and Privacy Choices
The App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present privacy and advertising consent messages when required.
Depending on your location and applicable privacy laws, you may be asked to make choices regarding the use of information for advertising purposes, including personalized advertising.
You may also be provided with options to change your advertising privacy choices after your initial selection.
For users in regions where consent is required, advertisements are served according to the user's consent choices and applicable legal requirements.
5. App Tracking Transparency
The App may request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
If you grant permission, certain information may be used for tracking purposes, including the use of an advertising identifier, in accordance with Apple's requirements and your choices.
If you deny permission, the App will not access the advertising identifier for tracking purposes through the ATT framework.
You can change your tracking permission at any time through your device's privacy settings.
6. Email Feedback
The App may provide an option to send feedback by email.
When you choose to send feedback, your device's email application may be opened so that you can send an email directly to the developer.
The App does not operate an email server and does not independently collect or store the contents of your feedback on our servers.
If you send an email to us, we may receive the information contained in that email, including your email address and any information that you voluntarily provide.
We use information received through email only to respond to your inquiry, feedback, or support request.
7. Information Sharing
We do not sell users' personal information.
We do not operate a server or database for collecting users' personal information.
However, the App integrates third-party services such as Google Mobile Ads. These third-party service providers may process information as necessary to provide their services, subject to their own privacy policies and applicable laws.
We do not independently control how third-party service providers process information.
8. Data Storage and Retention
Audio recordings and noise measurement data created by the App are stored locally on your device.
We do not maintain a cloud server or database for storing your recordings or noise measurement data.
Because these files are stored locally, their retention depends on your device and your actions. You can delete locally stored recordings and data using the features provided by the App, where available, or by deleting the App from your device.
Information processed by third-party services, such as advertising-related information, is subject to the retention policies of those providers.
9. Data Deletion
Because we do not operate a server or database containing users' recordings or noise measurement data, we do not have a separate server-side account deletion process for such data.
Deleting the App from your device will remove locally stored App data according to Apple's operating system behavior and your device settings.
Information that has already been processed by third-party service providers may be retained or deleted according to their respective policies and applicable laws.
10. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended to collect personal information from children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our own servers or databases.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us directly, please contact us using the contact information below.
Where required by applicable law, advertising and consent settings may be configured to provide appropriate treatment for users who are not of the applicable age of consent.
11. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have rights regarding personal information processed by third-party services.
You can control certain privacy choices through:
- Your iOS device's privacy and tracking settings
- The privacy and advertising options provided within the App
- Google's consent and privacy controls when presented
- Your device's microphone permission settings
You may also contact us if you have questions about information directly provided to us.
12. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information under our control.
Because the App does not operate its own server or database for storing users' recordings or noise measurement data, those files remain on the user's device unless the user chooses to share or export them.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security of your device, including using a passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, or other security features provided by your device.
13. Third-Party Privacy Policies
The App uses third-party services, including Google Mobile Ads.
These services may process information independently according to their own privacy policies.
We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of the relevant service providers:
14. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, third-party services, applicable laws, or our privacy practices.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date shown at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
